Las Vegas - Notre Dame comes in to New Orleans after beating Indiana 27-17 in the first round while Georgia heads to Bourbon Street with backup QB Gunner Stockton replacing Carson Beck. Nothing against Stockton, but the last time we looked, he had NOT won TWO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. Gunner might be the next one, we don't know, but don't think it'll be against the Fighting Irish. We have had a switch of favorites, with Notre Dame now a -1 point choice. They must have heard that this guy is on the Irish all the way to the bank.
In the Gator Bowl between Ole Miss and Duke, we're gonna follow the money. Ole Miss opened up at -12.5, inched up to -13.5, then when the news hit that Duke starting QB Maalik Murphy committed to Auburn, the line jumped all the way to -17.5. Why? Double M has been stellar this season for the Blue Devils, hitting on over 60% of his passes for 2,933 yards and 26 TDs. Murphy is gone and his backup, Grayson Loftis is a question mark. That leaves Henry Belin IV, who has a grand total of ONE pass for SEVEN yards. Also can report that Duke's #1 RB Star Thomas, who compiled a team-high 871 yards on the ground, announced that he was leaving. Still not excited about laying double digits, so just a light lean to the Ole Miss.
