Belmont Stakes, NBA, NHL Previews
The finals in the NHL and the NBA continue, the Belmont Stakes hits the track, and baseball's biggest rivalry gets renewed in the Bronx in another busy week for the sportsbooks.
The Stanley Cup final resumes in Boston on Monday night with the Vancouver Canucks holding a 2-0 series lead. The Canucks went up 2-0 in the series on Saturday night after winning 3-2 in overtime.
Alex Burrows netted the overtime winner for the Canucks just 11 seconds into the extra frame, and he was in on all the scoring for Vancouver in the win with two goals and an assist in a three-point night. [ NHL Matchups ]
In Game 3 the Bruins are a -120 home favorite at 5Dimes, but after dropping the first two games of the series they've fallen sharply on the series futures. The Canucks are now a -750 series favorite, while the Bruins are +525 underdogs.
The NBA Finals continue on Tuesday with Game 4 in Dallas between the Mavericks and the Miami Heat. Miami holds a 2-1 series lead after clipping the Mavs 88-86 as a 2-point road underdog in Game 3.
Dirk Nowitzki had a chance to tie the game in the dying seconds, but his shot clanged off the rim as time expired. [ NBA Finals Matchups ]
Dwyane Wade carried the Heat in the win with 29 points and 11 rebounds, while LeBron James took a backseat again with 17 points.
Nowitzki led Dallas with 34 points and 11 rebounds, but the rest of the Dallas starting lineup scored only 27 points total in the loss.
On the baseball schedule this week the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees clash once again at Yankee Stadium. The Red Sox have dominated the matchup so far this season with a 5-1 record against the Yankees, which includes sweeping three games at Yankee Stadium in May.
In their last seven games in New York the Red Sox are a solid 6-1.
Other notable series on the MLB slate this week include the Dodgers at Philadelphia, Detroit at Texas, Atlanta at Florida, and Tampa Bay at the Angels.

On the weekend horse racing returns to the forefront for bettors with the Belmont Stakes. At Belmont Park we'll see the rubber match between Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom and Preakness Stakes winner Shackleford.
Animal Kingdom is the Belmont favorite at Bodog at 5/2, while Shackleford is a 9/2 underdog. One horse in the Belmont field that could play spoiler for Animal Kingdom and Shackleford is Nehro.
He was one of the favorites in the Preakness before he was scratched from the race late in the week. Nehro is a must-watch for bettors, and at Bodog he is receiving better odds than Shackleford at 3/1.
