Weekend Sports Betting Preview
Sports bettors will have plenty to wager on this weekend, from the NASCAR Subway Fresh Fit 500 in the desert, to the NBA and college hardwood, and more.
College basketball has most of the top schools in the nation in action on Saturday, with many key matchups before the March Madness begins.
It’s a Top-25 battle in college basketball that highlights the Saturday afternoon betting menu, with No. 11 Georgetown taking on No. 8 Marquette. Most of the college basketball betting world will then turn their eyes later in the evening to the matchup between a pair of Top-10 teams, when No. 6 North Carolina plays No. 4 Duke.
In MMA action it’s a Strikeforce battle, with the main card featuring Miesha Tate trying to unseat the favored Ronda Rousey in a late Saturday night brawl.
It’s off to the desert on Sunday, when the Subway Fresh Fit 500 NASCAR race goes off at Phoenix International Raceway. Carl Edwards (+750) comes in as the favorite at 5Dimes, followed closely by Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart, and former Phoenix winner Jimmie Johnson at +850.
Sunday also offers up an excellent array of betting choices for NBA bettors with top dogs Miami on the road to face the Los Angeles Lakers, who’ve lost just twice at home heading into the weekend’s betting action.
Other NBA games on tap have the Knicks up against the Boston Celtics, with another key betting matchup involving the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers.
The NHL playoff races are heating up and the betting action takes full flight with many games set for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Chicago faces Ottawa in a key matchup on Friday, with Boston versus the New York Rangers on Sunday - the biggest NHL betting matchup this weekend.
