NBA and NHL Betting This Week

If the playoffs were to start today, the New York Knicks would be facing the Boston Celtics in the 2 vs. 7 Eastern Conference matchup. Those two teams will square off in a potential playoff preview on Tuesday in Boston. Boston is 9-3 SU and 7-5 ATS in its last 12 games against New York. The Celtics are 0-4 SU and 2-2 ATS over their last four games while the Knicks are 4-0 SU and ATS over their last four.

Two big streaks could be on the line Wednesday when the Miami Heat visit the Chicago Bulls and the Denver Nuggets visit the San Antonio Spurs. If Miami defeats Orlando on Monday it will have a winning streak of 27 straight games, and a Denver win over New Orleans on Monday would stretch the Nuggets’ winning streak to 16. Miami is 1-2 SU and ATS in its last three games in Chicago and Denver is 1-4 SU and 3-2 ATS in its last five trips to San Antonio.
In the NHL, the Montreal Canadiens have their work cut out for them this week with back-to-back road games against two of the Eastern Conference’s top teams. Montreal visits the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday and then the Boston Bruins on Wednesday. The Penguins have won 12 straight games to take over the top spot in the East and are 4-1 SU in their last five games against Montreal. Boston is 5-1 SU in its last six games against the Canadiens.
Finally, in college basketball the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament tips off on Thursday with four matchups: No. 9 Wichita State vs. No. 13 La Salle, No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 6 Arizona, No. 1 Indiana vs. No. 4 Syracuse, and No. 2 Miami vs. No. 3 Marquette. Wichita State knocked off No. 1 Gonzaga, the only No. 1 seed to fail to advance to the Sweet 16 of the Big Dance this year.
