Blue Jays ride 11-game winning streak into new week

With a 13-5 blowout win on Sunday, the Toronto Blue Jays completed their sweep of the Baltimore Orioles and picked up their 11th straight win. The Blue Jays will look to keep the winning streak alive on Monday when they visit the Tampa Bay Rays for the first game of a three-game series.

Toronto is currently listed as a slight underdog at 5Dimes in Monday’s opener, sending Esmil Rogers to the mound (+106) to square off against Jeremy Hellickson (-116) and the Rays. Tampa Bay won the last series between these two teams two games to one, though Toronto is playing much better right now than it was last month.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are also streaking with four straight wins, closing the gap in the NL Central standings behind the division-leading St. Louis Cardinals. The Pirates host the Milwaukee Brewers in a three-game series starting on Friday this week. Pittsburgh has won five of its last six games against the Brewers.

The Chicago Blackhawks took Game 5 by a score of 3-1 and with it took a 3-2 series lead in the Stanley Cup final over the Boston Bruins. The Hawks will try to close out the series in Boston on Monday night in Game 6, though Boston is listed as a -130 favorite at home at Bovada. If Chicago fails to close out the series, a pivotal Game 7 will be played in Chicago on Wednesday night.

Wimbledon is underway this week as Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer both play their first matches of the tournament early on Monday morning. Chalk chasers can bet on other tournament favorites Novak Djokovic (-10000) over Florian Mayer (+2000) and David Ferrer (-10000) over Martin Alund (+2000) at Bovada on Tuesday morning. There could be some slight value on Mayer, who is the highest-ranked player not to be seeded at Wimbledon. Serena Williams has been pegged as a -10000 favorite on Tuesday over Mandy Minella (+2000) at the sportsbook.
