Davis and Fielder enter Home Run Derby as favorites

Chris Davis headed into the All-Star break on Sunday doing exactly what he’s been doing all season long; mashing another home run. The Baltimore Orioles’ sensation has hit 37 home runs so far this season, and is a 15/4 favorite at Bovada to win the Home Run Derby with that smooth power swing.

Perhaps his biggest competition will be Prince Fielder, who is the co-favorite at Bovada going off at 15/4 to win the event. Not only is Fielder a proven slugger with 30+ home runs in six of his last seven seasons, but he is also the defending Home Run Derby champion and the only player to win the event more than once besides Ken Griffey Jr. He knows how to hit home runs and how to pace himself through the event.

The other contenders (with lines provided by Bovada) are Pedro Alvarez (9/2), Bryce Harper (11/2), Robinson Cano (11/2), Yoenis Cespedes (11/2), David Wright (9/1), and Michael Cuddyer (10/1). Cano won the event back in 2011.

The National League has won the All-Star Game in each of the last three years, and is favored to do so again as a -123 favorite at 5Dimes over the American League (+118) this Tuesday night. The total is set at eight runs, which was the exact number the game fell on last year when the National League won 8-0.

Baseball returns to regular action on Friday, highlighted by a three-game series between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, one of baseball’s greatest rivalries. The Yankees are 7-4 in their last 11 games against the Red Sox.

Tiger Woods leads a talented field into the British Open, currently going off at 8/1 at Bovada to win the major event. Phil Mickelson isn’t far behind at 16/1, with other favorites on the board including Adam Scott, Justin Rose, and Rory McIlroy all going off at 18/1.

The USA will wrap up the group stage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Tuesday night. The knockout stage begins on Sunday, and the USA’s seeding will depend on the outcome of Tuesday’s match.
