Super Bowl Favorites meet in Week 1 of NFL preseason
Heading into the 2013 season, the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers are the co-favorites to win the Super Bowl at Bovada, each going off at 6/1 to win the 2014 Super Bowl. The two teams square off this Thursday night in San Francisco for their first taste of preseason action.
Both teams have suffered some injuries during training camp, which should lead to some exciting positional battles for players looking to move their way up the depth chart. San Francisco went 3-1 SU and ATS last preseason including a win over Denver. The 49ers are a 2.5-point favorite at 5Dimes, with the total currently set at 35.5 points.
On Sunday, Week 1 of the NFL preseason wraps up when the Buffalo Bills visit the Indianapolis Colts. Buffalo has been one of the most profitable fades of the last two preseasons, going 1-3 SU and ATS in both the 2011 and 2012 preseason. Indianapolis was 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS last preseason. The Colts are a 3-point home favorite at 5Dimes, with the total set at 36 points.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are showing no signs of slowing down, bringing their current run to 31-7 over their last 38 games with a weekend sweep of the Chicago Cubs. Los Angeles visits the St. Louis Cardinals for a four game series starting on Monday as St. Louis looks to catch Pittsburgh in the NL Central. St. Louis has held the upper hand in this series recently with a 7-3 SU record in its last 10 games against the Dodgers. Zack Greinke will take the mound for Los Angeles on Monday night and is a +141 underdog going against Adam Wainwright (-146) and the Cardinals.
Tiger Woods dominated the field at the WGC-Bridgestone, and will look to carry that momentum into a win in the PGA Championship this week in New York. Woods is a 3/1 favorite to win the event at Bovada. Phil Mickelson, fresh off of his British Open win, is going off at 12/1 to win his second straight major event.
