Giants Thursday Night Football Odds Chalk
After dropping back-to-back games to start the season the New York Giants host the Washington Redskins on Thursday night looking for their first win.
For the second time this season the Giants were unable to hold a fourth quarter lead last week against the Atlanta Falcons. New York was up 20-10 entering the final quarter before surrendering 14 unanswered points to lose 24-20 as a 2-point favorite. Eli Manning passed for 292 yards with a pair of touchdowns and Odell Beckham had a big game in defeat with seven receptions for 146 yards and a TD.
The Redskins picked up their first win last week after upsetting St. Louis 24-10 as a 3-point underdog. Rookie Matt Jones had a breakout game in the win, rushing for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Alfred Morris rumbled for 59 yards. The Washington defense also delivered a strong effort, holding the Rams to 213 yards, which included only 67 yards on the ground.
Last season the Giants won both matchups against their division rivals and they also covered the spread each time. Overall New York has won four in a row both SU and ATS against Washington. Going back even further the Giants are 11-3 SU and 8-5-1 ATS in their last 14 against the Redskins.
The Giants have also dominated this matchup at home. In their last six home games against the Redskins, the Giants are 5-1 SU and 3-2-1 ATS. At online sportsbook Bovada the oddsmakers have tagged the Giants as a 4-point favorite at home. In their last 14 road games as the underdog the Redskins have only one win. In those 14 games they’re only 4-10 ATS.
