Colts vs Texans Odds Tight for Thursday Night

After barely escaping with a win in overtime last week the Indianapolis Colts look to make it three in  row and get their season back on track when they face the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football.

With starting quarterback Andrew Luck sidelined by a shoulder injury the Colts faced the Jaguars last week as a 4-point favorite. The Colts won 16-13, but failed to cover the spread, dropping to 0-4 ATS on the season. Adam Vinatieri was the hero for the Colts with a 27-yard field goal in overtime.

Veteran Matt Hasselbeck started in place of Luck and had 282 yards passing with a touchdown. The Colts’ offense continues to be sluggish as they were actually outgained by the Jaguars 431-326 yards.

The Texans dropped to 1-3 on the season last week after getting shredded by Atlanta 43-21 as a 4-point underdog. Houston committed four turnovers in the rout, while Brian Hoyer replaced an ineffective Ryan Mallett and threw a pair of touchdown passes. Arian Foster’s slow return from injury continued as he was limited to 10 yards on eight carries.

Luck returned to practice this week and is expected to start for the Colts on Thursday night. Even with Luck expected back the Texans are still listed as 1-point home favorites at online sportsbook 5Dimes.

The Colts defeated the Texans twice last season and posted a 1-0-1 record ATS. Overall Indy has won five in a row versus Houston with a 4-0-1 record ATS. At home the Colts have won their last two matchups with Houston and they covered the spread both times.
