College Football Week 12 Top Odds Matchups
Three conference matchups highlight Week 12 in college football starting with a Big Ten clash between Michigan State and Ohio State.
The Spartans defeated Maryland 24-7 as a 14.5-point favorite last week. Quarterback Connor Cook gave everyone a scare when he injured his shoulder, but he's expected to suit up this weekend.
Ohio State remains undefeated after taking care of Illinois 28-3 as a 17-point favorite. Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 181 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the rout.
The Buckeyes are heavy 13-point favorites at online sportsbook 5Dimes this week and it isn't hard to see why. Ohio State has won 23 straight while going 12-11 ATS. The Spartans are 9-1 SU on the season, but an awful 3-7 ATS. Their only loss this season came on the road a few weeks ago versus Nebraska; a game in which they were a 4-point favorite.
In their last 14 games against the Spartans the Buckeyes are 10-4 SU and 8-5-1 ATS. That includes a 4-1 SU record and 2-2-1 ATS mark in their last five at home versus Michigan State.
In the Big 12 this weekend two matchups could be major factors in the divisional races when Baylor takes on Oklahoma State and TCU visits Oklahoma.
The Bears are coming off their first loss of the season after falling to the Sooners 44-34 last week as a 1.5-point favorite. That loss snapped Baylor's 20-game winning streak at home. On the road Baylor has won four in a row while going 2-2 ATS.
The Cowboys snuck past Iowa State 35-31 last week but failed to cover the 11.5-point spread. Oklahoma State trailed 24-7 in the second quarter, but took over in the second half to escape with the win.
The oddsmakers at 5Dimes are expecting a close game with the matchup set as a pick'em. The Cowboys are riding a 12-game winning streak with an 8-4 record ATS. In their last 18 games against the Bears the Cowboys are 15-3 SU and 13-5 ATS. They're also 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS in their last nine home games versus Baylor.
TCU at Oklahoma is currently being held off the board due to the questionable status of TCU QB Trevone Boykin. Last week in the Horned Frogs' 23-17 win over Kansas Boykin suffered an ankle injury. Without him the TCU offense dried up and they came nowhere near covering the 46-point spread.
Oklahoma upset Baylor last week behind a four-touchdown performance from Baker Mayfield. They're 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS on the season and have won five in a row at home with a 4-1 ATS record.
TCU is 7-1 SU in their last eight road games but only 2-6 ATS. In the series the Sooners hold the edge at 4-2 SU in their last six, but they're 2-4 ATS.
