Sports Betting Week: Kobe Ends His Career
The NBA regular season comes to an end on Wednesday night, which also means it’s the end of the Hall of Fame career of Kobe Bryant.
Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers finish things off at home against the Utah Jazz. It may be difficult for Bryant to go out on a winning note. Utah has won four in a row straight up against the Lakers (including three this season), while going 4-0 against the spread. The Lakers were the underdog in all four games at online sportsbook Bovada.
Also on Wednesday night the Golden State Warriors play their regular season finale at home versus the Memphis Grizzlies. Golden State has won six straight versus Memphis while going 5-1 ATS, and the Warriors will be gunning for an NBA-record 73rd win in the contest.
The NHL drops the puck on the Stanley Cup playoffs on Wednesday night. Three series are slated to begin on Wednesday, including the Detroit Red Wings vs. Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins, and Chicago Blackhawks vs. St. Louis Blues.
The Red Wings and Lightning split the season series 2-2 with the home team winning every game. Tampa Bay has home ice advantage in the playoff series. The Penguins took three out of four from the Rangers this season, but New York is 6-2 in their last eight games in Pittsburgh.
The Blues were 3-2 against the Blackhawks this season, but the last time they met up in the postseason in 2014 Chicago won in six games.
On the diamond the first month of the new baseball season continues with some solid divisional matchups and a rematch from last year’s ALDS round.
The divisional matchups include the New York Yankees at the Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles at the Boston Red Sox. The Orioles were 11-8 against Boston last season, but the Red Sox were 6-4 at home. The Blue Jays owned the Yankees last year at 13-6.
The ALDS rematch pits the Kansas City Royals against the Houston Astros. Their ADLS series went the distance with the Royals winning in five games. Before losing three of five in the postseason the Astros were 4-2 against the Royals during the regular season.
