Sports Betting Week: NBA Finals on Deck
The Cleveland Cavaliers await the winner of the Western Conference Finals as the NBA Finals is set to tip off on Thursday night this week.
The Cavaliers will face the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Golden State Warriors matchup. The Thunder and Warriors clash in Game 7 of their series Monday night after the Warriors battled back from a 3-1 series deficit. Playing at home in Game 7 the Warriors are a 7-point betting favorite.
The latest NBA championship odds at online sportsbook Bovada list Golden State as a -120 favorite, followed by Cleveland at +160 and Oklahoma City at +600. The Cavaliers might prefer to face the Thunder after posting a 2-0 record against them this season both straight up and against the spread. Cleveland has lost five straight versus the Warriors with a 1-4 ATS record.
The Stanley Cup Final also gets underway on Monday night with Game 1 between the San Jose Sharks and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins are a -150 favorite in Game 1 at Bovada and they also begin the final as a -125 series favorite. Game 2 goes Wednesday night.
On the baseball schedule this week the series to watch include the Boston Red Sox at the Baltimore Orioles and the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Chicago Cubs.
The Orioles took two of three from the Red Sox earlier this season and in their last eight games at home versus Boston they are a solid 7-1. This is the first time the Dodgers and Cubs will meet up this season, but Los Angeles is 4-1 in their last five against them. The last seven matchups between Los Angeles and Chicago have all gone UNDER the posted total.
This week’s PGA stop is The Memorial at Muirfield in Dublin, Ohio. David Lingmerth recorded his first career PGA victory at Muirfield last year, but he’s a +8000 underdog to repeat.
The co-favorites are Jason Day and Jordan Spieth, both at +650. Spieth is coming off a win in last week’s Dean & Deluca Invitational, while Day last teed off in the Players Championship two weeks ago, where he also finished first.
