Sports Betting Weekend: Warriors Face Cavs
The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers meet up in the NBA Finals for the second consecutive year with the favored Warriors looking to repeat as the NBA champions.
Game 1 of the NBA Finals is Thursday night at Golden State and at online sportsbook Bovada the Warriors are a 6-point home favorite. The series odds also list Golden State as the favorite at -200. Cleveland checks in as a +170 underdog.
During the regular season the Warriors were 2-0 straight up and 1-1 against the spread versus the Cavaliers. Overall Golden State has won five in a row against Cleveland with a 4-1 ATS record. In last year’s finals the Warriors were 4-2 SU and ATS.
In the Stanley Cup final the Pittsburgh Penguins hold a 2-0 series lead on the San Jose Sharks heading into Game 3 on Saturday. The Penguins won Game 2 by a score of 2-1 in overtime and are now a -500 favorite in the series at Bovada.
This weekend’s MLB schedule includes three interesting divisional matchups between the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox, the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers, and the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers.
The Blue Jays and Red Sox meet up for the second weekend in a row after Toronto took two of three from Boston last week. Toronto has won four of their last five against Boston, but they’re still just 5-5 against them this season.
The Mariners and Rangers have split their season series so far with three wins each. In Texas the Mariners have had the upper hand recently, with an 8-4 record in their last 12 games.
The White Sox and Tigers surprisingly meet up for the first time this season. Detroit was 10-9 against Chicago a year ago which included a 6-4 record at home. The Tigers are also 7-2 in their last nine games at home overall.
This weekend’s NASCAR stop is at Pocono Raceway for the Axalta We Paint Winners 400. Martin Truex Jr. won this race last year and he’s favored to repeat at +550 at Bovada. Denny Hamlin, who has four career wins at Pocono, is a +850 underdog and Jimmie Johnson with three career victories on the track is listed at +700.
