College Football Week 4 Betting Preview
An early Big Ten showdown has some major importance this weekend when the No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers visit the No. 8 Michigan State Spartans.
The Spartans are a 5.5-point home favorite as they look to feed off their momentum from last week’s win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Michigan State was a 7-point underdog against Notre Dame but posted a 36-28 victory. With the win they improved to 6-1 straight up and 4-2-1 ATS in their last seven games.
Wisconsin has won five straight after defeating the Georgia State Panthers 23-17 last week. They didn’t come close to covering the 35.5-point spread, which snapped a four-game ATS winning streak. The real bad news for Wisconsin last week was running back Corey Clement suffering an ankle injury that has him considered questionable for this weekend.
The Spartans are 3-1 SU and a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four games versus the Badgers. At home Michigan State has won their last four against Wisconsin at 3-1 ATS.
In the SEC this weekend the No. 23 Ole Miss Rebels try to stop their slide when they host the No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs as 7-point favorites at online sportsbook Bovada.
The Rebels are 2-2 SU and ATS on the season after a 48-43 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide last week as a 10-point underdog.
Georgia is on an eight-game winning streak following last week’s 28-27 win over the Missouri Tigers. The Bulldogs failed to cover as 7-point chalk and they’re 5-3 ATS during their winning streak.
The Bulldogs have dominated this matchup with 10 straight wins against the Rebels. Georgia is 7-3 ATS in those10 wins. Totals bettors may want to look at the UNDER. In their last 10 games the Bulldogs are 9-1 UNDER and they are 7-1 UNDER in their last eight versus Ole Miss.
Sticking with the SEC there’s another Top 25 matchup on tap this weekend when the No. 10 Florida Gators take on the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers as 7-point underdogs at Bovada.
Florida is coming off a 32-0 shutout of the North Texas Mean Green as a 33-point favorite. Tennessee tamed the Ohio Bobcats 28-19 last week as a 27-point favorite.
The win was the third straight for Florida, but they’re only 1-2 ATS. Tennessee is on a nine-game winning streak, but they’re also only 5-4 ATS.
History is on the Gators’ side as they have won their last 11 games against the Volunteers while going 6-3-2 ATS.
