TNF Betting Preview: Cowboys at Vikings
Coming off their 10th straight victory the Dallas Cowboys will suit up on a Thursday for the second week in a row when they face the Minnesota Vikings as a road favorite.
Dallas faced division rivals the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving and delivered a 31-26 win as 5.5-point favorites. That extended their winning streak straight up, but snapped a nine-game against the spread winning streak.
Against Washington quarterback Dak Prescott passed for 195 yards with a touchdown pass and a TD run. Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 20 carries, and Dez Bryant hauled in five passes for 72 yards.
The Vikings also played on Thanksgiving and lost to the Detroit Lions 16-13 as a 2-point underdog. With the loss Minnesota is now 1-5 SU and ATS in their last six games.
Sam Bradford passed for 224 yards with no touchdowns and an interception for Minnesota. Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata combined to rush for 58 yards on 14 carries with a TD. The Minnesota offense had trouble moving the ball in the loss and converted on only 2 of 10 third downs.
At the Bovada sportsbook the oddsmakers have listed Dallas as a 3.5-point favorite. The Cowboys have won five straight on the road both SU and ATS. As a road favorite they’re 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS in their last nine.
Despite their recent struggles the Vikings are actually 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five home games. In their last eight at home they’re a profitable 7-1 ATS. Minnesota is also 4-2 ATS in their last six games as a home underdog.
The Cowboys and Vikings have split their last four matchups with two wins apiece SU, but Minnesota is 3-1 ATS. Going back further Minnesota has had the advantage in this matchup. In their last nine games against the Cowboys the Vikings are 7-2 SU and 8-1 ATS. At home the Vikings have won five straight against Dallas SU and six in a row ATS.
For totals bettors all of the trends are pointing toward the UNDER. The Cowboys are 8-2 UNDER in their last 10 games on the road. The Vikings are 7-3 UNDER in their last 10 games overall. And in the last eight between Dallas and Minnesota the UNDER is 6-2.
