NFL Week 16 Betting Preview and Analysis

With their playoff lives in their own hands the Green Bay Packers carry a four-game winning streak into a Week 16 showdown with the rival Minnesota Vikings.

With Christmas falling on a Sunday this year most of the Week 16 games will be played on Saturday, including Vikings vs. Packers. Green Bay is a 6.5-point home favorite at the Bovada sportsbook. Last week they escaped with a 30-27 win over the Chicago Bears as a 4.5-point favorite.

Minnesota was routed by the Indianapolis Colts 34-6 as a 5-point favorite last week. Since starting the season 5-0 the Vikings have gone 2-7 straight up and 3-6 against the spread. Back in Week 2 during their hot start they upset the Packers 17-14 as 1-point home underdogs. They may have trouble repeating that win in Green Bay where they are 2-8-1 SU and 4-7 ATS in their last 11.

Looking ahead to the Sunday matchups, division rivals clash in two contests as the Baltimore Ravens face the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos visit the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Ravens are coming off a close 27-26 win over the Philadelphia Eagles as a 5-point favorite. They are a 4.5-point road underdog versus Pittsburgh, which isn’t surprising considering they have dropped four in a row on the road SU and five straight ATS.

Pittsburgh has won five straight SU and ATS after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 24-20 last week as a 3-point favorite. They’re a solid 8-2 SU and 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 at home, but have had trouble with the Ravens in recent years.

Baltimore has won their last four versus Pittsburgh, including a 21-14 win as a 3-point home underdog in Week 9. In their last seven versus the Steelers the Ravens are 6-1 SU and 4-2-1 ATS, and in Pittsburgh they are 4-2 SU and 2-2-2 ATS in their last six.

The Broncos limp into Kansas City as a 4-point underdog after a 16-3 loss to the New England Patriots as a 3-point underdog last week. Denver is 1-3 SU and ATS in their last four games and on the road they’re 2-3 SU and ATS in their last five.

Kansas City is coming off a major 19-17 upset loss to the Tennessee Titans as a 6-point favorite. That snapped a three-game winning streak SU and ATS and dropped them to 10-2 SU and 4-8 ATS in their last 12 at home.

In Week 12 the Chiefs beat the Broncos 30-27 as a 3.5-point underdog. Kansas City has won their last two against Denver, but before that the Broncos had won seven straight against the Chiefs at 5-2 ATS.
