TNF Betting Preview: Giants at Eagles
The New York Giants can punch their ticket to the playoffs on Thursday night if they can knock off the struggling Philadelphia Eagles.
New York is a 3-point road favorite at the Bovada sportsbook and is coming off a 17-6 win over the Detroit Lions as 4-point chalk. Eli Manning passed for 201 yards with two touchdowns in the win. Odell Beckham Jr. led the Giants with six receptions for 64 yards and a TD. In their last three games when favored by three points or less the Giants are 6-1-1 ATS.
The Eagles are on a five-game losing streak straight up, during which they are 1-4 ATS. They barely lost to the Baltimore Ravens 27-26 as a 5-point underdog last week. Carson Wentz plunged into the end zone with four seconds remaining, but Philadelphia decided to go for two points and the win instead of kicking the single point and was denied. Wentz finished with 170 yards passing, an interception and the TD run. Ryan Mathews rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on six carries.
The Giants and Eagles met up in Week 9 and New York came away with a 28-23 win as a 3-point home favorite. Manning had four touchdowns passes in the win, with two of them going to Beckham. Wentz passed for 364 yards but never found the end zone and threw a pair or interceptions for the Eagles in the loss.
Before the Week 9 loss the Eagles had won their last four games against the Giants both SU and ATS. At home the Eagles sport a 5-2 record SU and ATS in their last seven games against New York.
New York has had trouble on the road this season at 2-4 SU and 1-3-2 ATS. However, as a road favorite the Giants tend to deliver having won three straight at 2-1 ATS and they’re 4-1-1 ATS in their last six.
Out of the Eagles’ five wins this season, four of them have come at home. Philadelphia is 4-2 SU and ATS at home this season, but they have a horrible record when listed as a home underdog. In their last 12 games as a home underdog the Eagles are 2-10 SU and 3-9 ATS.
