NFL Week 4 Betting Preview and Trends

The Atlanta Falcons are one of two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL and in Week 4 play host to the Buffalo Bills as an 8-point favorite at Bovada Sportsbook.

After starting the season 3-0 straight up and 2-1 against the spread, Atlanta is 9-1 SU and 7-3 ATS in its last 10. The Falcons and their high-powered offense continue to be a totals bettor’s dream at 11-1 OVER in their last 12 and with 11 straight OVERs at home. Buffalo upset Denver last week, but on the road the Bills are only 3-10 SU and 3-7-3 ATS in their last 13. In their last nine against Atlanta, they’re 2-7 SU.

Two teams coming off upset losses look to turn things around when AFC North rivals Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens square off. The Steelers are a 3-point road favorite but they’ve lost three straight ATS on the road. Baltimore excels at home lately, having won six straight while going 5-1 ATS. In the matchup, Baltimore has won four in a row at home against Pittsburgh and is 7-4-2 ATS overall in the last 13.

In the AFC West, the Denver Broncos host the Oakland Raiders as a 2-point favorite at Bovada Sportsbook. Oakland is 2-4 SU and ATS in its last six on the road and in their last five trips to Denver the Raiders sport a 1-4 record SU and 2-3 ATS. Denver is 11-3 SU in its last 14 at home, but only 7-5-2 ATS.

The Carolina Panthers carry their lackluster road record into New England this week where they’re 8.5-point underdogs versus the Patriots. The Panthers are 3-7 SU and 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10 road games, but they’re 5-1 ATS in their last six versus New England. The Patriots are 1-2 ATS on the season, but at home have gone 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven.

The biggest spread this week is the Sunday night game between the Indianapolis Colts and Seattle Seahawks, with Seattle listed as a 13-point home favorite. Seattle has lost four straight ATS and six of its last seven, and at home the Seahawks are 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10. The Colts have won their last two games ATS, both as the underdog, and they’re 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus Seattle.

Concluding Week 4, on Monday night the Washington Redskins visit the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs as a 7-point underdog. Washington already has two SU wins as the underdog this season and in the last nine as the underdog is 7-2 ATS. The Chiefs are a perfect 6-0 SU and ATS in their last six versus Washington, but at home overall they’re a disappointing 3-3 SU in their last six and 3-5 ATS in their last eight.
