NBA Betting: Dubs Taking Eastern Road Test

The Golden State Warriors have a tough weekend ahead of them with a pair of back-to-back road games against Eastern Conference contenders.

First up for the Warriors is a date with the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. With Stephen Curry sidelined by a bum ankle, the Warriors were lit up by the Los Angeles Clippers 125-106 on Wednesday night as a 12-point favorite. That snapped a five-game winning streak during which they were 2-2-1 against the spread. Golden State does have a 10-game road winning streak intact SU, with a 6-4 record ATS.

This is the first matchup this season between the Warriors and Bucks. Last season Golden State was 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS versus Milwaukee, but the Warriors have some dire trends on the road against them. In their last eight games in Milwaukee, the Warriors are a lame 3-5 SU and 5-3 ATS.

Things don’t get any easier for the Warriors the next night, as they take on the Toronto Raptors on Saturday. Golden State has won seven straight versus Toronto at 3-3-1 ATS, including a 117-111 win in October as a 12.5-point home favorite at Bovada Sportsbook.

Toronto, like Golden State with Curry, has its own injury problems right now with Kyle Lowry battling a back injury. He was missed in their last game, a 90-89 loss to the Miami Heat as a 4-point favorite. Toronto headed into a Thursday night matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers 5-1 SU in the last six, but only 3-3 ATS. At home the Raptors are 12-1 SU and 7-6 ATS in their last 13.

Looking at the NBA standings you may notice the Miami Heat are surging right now, having won six straight. They made it six in a row on Wednesday by powering past the Indiana Pacers 114-106 as a 4.5-point underdog. The Heat are 4-2 ATS during their streak, but still may not be a great betting option this weekend when they host Milwaukee on Sunday.

Miami will be well-rested after getting a three-day break, and the Heat have won three straight at home SU. However, at home this season the Heat have been an awful bet. In their last 10 home games they’re 3-7 ATS, and on the season they’re 5-13-2 ATS.

The Bucks are a mediocre 2-4 SU in their last six road games, but they’ve paid off for bettors at 4-2 ATS. If Milwaukee is an underdog Sunday, it could also work to their advantage. In their last four games in Miami as the underdog, the Bucks are 3-1 SU.
