CBB Wednesday Betting: Tigers Face Wildcats
SEC foes clash in college hoops Wednesday night when the No. 8 Auburn Tigers host the Kentucky Wildcats.
The Tigers are a stout 6-1 straight up and against the spread in their last seven games, after routing the Georgia Bulldogs 78-61 as a 3-point favorite at Bovada Sportsbook last time out. At home they’ve been even better with a 12-1 SU record and an 8-3 ATS mark in their last 13 games. If that math seems wonky to you, it’s because two games didn’t have spreads.
The Wildcats are struggling right now, having lost three in a row SU and their last four ATS. They haven’t had a good time on the road this season either, at 3-4 SU and ATS in seven contests.
Kentucky has owned this matchup for years with a 19-1 SU record and 9-9-2 ATS mark in the last 20 vs the Tigers. However, the last time the Wildcats ventured to Auburn, the Tigers came away with a 75-70 win as an 11.5-point underdog.
The Villanova Wildcats, No. 3 in the nation, are also in action Wednesday night, on the road against the Providence Friars.
Villanova is 10-1 SU and 7-4 ATS in its last 11, and the team has been paying off totals bettors who ride the OVER, with six straight OVERs. The Wildcats have also excelled on the road this season at 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS.
Providence is coming off a disappointing 80-63 loss to the DePaul Blue Demons as a 7-point favorite. That dropped the Friars to 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS in their last five. At home they’re 11-3 SU this season, but a poor 4-8 ATS.
Villanova and Providence met up on January 23 and the Wildcats rolled to an 89-69 win as 15.5-point favorites. Including that win, Villanova is 10-1 SU and 5-6 ATS in its last 11 vs the Friars.
Finishing off our Wednesday preview, the Virginia Tech Hokies visit the No. 12 Duke Blue Devils.
The Hokies are coming off a big 61-60 upset win over the Virginia Cavaliers as a 12-point underdog. Duke is 2-3 SU and ATS in its last five, and two of those SU losses came as the favorite.
Duke is 9-1 SU and 5-5 ATS in its last 10 against the Hokies, but that one loss came just last season. The Hokies were a 4.5-point underdog and upset Duke 89-75.
