NBA Betting: Celtics Try To Reverse Slide
The Eastern Conference final returns to Boston on Wednesday night deadlocked at 2-2, as the Boston Celtics try to get back on track after dropping their last two games to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cleveland tied the series on Monday with a 111-102 win in Game 4 as a 7-point home favorite in NBA betting at Bovada Sportsbook. LeBron James led the Cavaliers with a game-high 44 points and Tristan Thompson chipped in a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Jaylen Brown had a team-high 25 points for Boston in the loss.
Cleveland’s win in Game 4 continued the trend of the home team winning every game of the series so far, both straight up and against the spread. During their playoff run, Cleveland is now 10-5 SU but only 6-9 ATS. The Cavaliers have also been hard on bettors on the road with a 3-4 record SU and ATS.
Boston perfect at home SU, ATS
Heading home for Game 5 could give Boston the jolt it needs to retake the lead in the series. In the postseason, the Celtics are 10-6 SU and 11-5 ATS overall but at home they’ve been unbeatable with a perfect 9-0 record both SU and ATS.
The early odds for Game 5 had Cleveland initially listed as a 1-point road favorite. That’s since changed and currently at Bovada Sportsbook you’ll find the game listed as a pick’em. The oddsmakers also listed Game 2 of this series as a pick’em and Boston went on to win 107-94 at home. That was the only time this season Cleveland has been listed as a pick’em, but looking back prior to the Game 2 loss, Cleveland had won five in a row as a pick’em.
Including Game 2, Boston was listed as a pick’em twice this season, winning both games. Overall the Celtics have won four straight games as a pick’em, but they’re 3-4 SU in their last seven as a pick’em at home.
After Cleveland tied the series with a win in Game 4, the oddsmakers adjusted the series odds in favor of the Cavaliers. Cleveland is now a -190 favorite to win the series. Boston has fallen to a +155 underdog.
