NFL Week 5 Betting Preview and Trends
Week 5 in the NFL kicks off Thursday night with the New England Patriots heavily favored at home vs the Indianapolis Colts.

New England is only 2-4 against the spread in its last six, but at home the Patriots have been money with nine straight wins straight up and an 8-1 mark ATS. The Colts have lost seven straight vs New England at 3-4 ATS, and overall on the road they’re 2-9 SU and 5-6 ATS in their last 11.
In the AFC North on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens are a 3-point road favorite against the Cleveland Browns. Baltimore has won five straight SU and ATS vs Cleveland and is 9-1 ATS in the last 10 road games against the Browns. Cleveland has dropped four straight at home vs Baltimore SU and ATS, and in their last 18 games against AFC North opponents, the Browns are a horrendous 0-17-1 SU and 3-14-1 ATS.
The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks square off in an NFC West matchup this weekend with the Rams listed as a 7.5-point road favorite at Bovada Sportsbook. The Rams are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games, but have a bad history in Seattle, where they are 2-11 SU and 4-9 ATS in their last 13. The Seahawks are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games, but as a home underdog they’ve covered in seven straight.
Packers 2-3 SU, ATS in last 5 at Detroit
Continuing with the divisional matchups, the Green Bay Packers visit the Detroit Lions as a 1.5-point road favorite. Green Bay is a disappointing 2-6 ATS in its last eight as a road favorite, and 2-3 SU and ATS in the last five games in Detroit. The Lions have won three straight ATS and six of their last eight, but as a home underdog they’re 2-4 ATS in their last six.
One other road favorite this week is the Tennessee Titans, down as 3.5-point chalk against the Buffalo Bills. Tennessee has won three straight SU and ATS, all as the underdog. The Titans are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs Buffalo. The Bills are 1-5 SU and ATS in their last six as a home underdog.
On Monday night this week the New Orleans Saints host the Washington Redskins as a 6.5-point favorite. Washington is coming off a bye and sports a 3-7 SU record and 2-8 ATS mark in its last 10 games following a bye week. New Orleans has lost six straight ATS vs Washington, and at home the Saints are 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS in their last five against the Redskins.
