NBA Betting: Raptors Tip Off Against Spurs
NBA teams continue to return from the all-star break Friday night as the Toronto Raptors head back to the hardwood to host the San Antonio Spurs.
The Raptors entered the break on a six-game winning streak, but they were only 3-3 against the spread. They failed to cover in their last game when they defeated the Washington Wizards 129-120 as a 9.5-point favorite at Bovada Sportsbook. At home Toronto has been dominant at 13-1 straight up in its last 14, but that hasn’t translated to big profits for bettors as the Raptors are 7-7 ATS.
The Spurs have been killing bettors lately, as they entered the break on an eight-game ATS losing streak. They were 4-4 SU in those eight games. One way the Spurs have been money is as an OVER pick for totals bettors. In their last 11 games, the Spurs are 10-1 OVER.
In the lone matchup between Toronto and San Antonio this season, the Spurs routed the Raptors 125-107 as a 3.5-point home favorite. The Spurs are 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six vs the Raptors and a solid 5-3 SU and 4-3-1 ATS in their last eight in Toronto.
Thunder have muffled Jazz in OKC
A Northwest Division tilt also highlights the Friday night schedule as the Utah Jazz visit the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Jazz are coming off a 115-108 loss to the Golden State Warriors in which they covered as 9-point underdogs. Utah is 6-3 SU and ATS in its last nine, and on the road is 5-2 ATS in its last seven.
The Thunder had a four-game SU and ATS winning streak snapped last time out when they fell to the New Orleans Pelicans 131-122 as a 4.5-point favorite. The Thunder have been a smart pick for bettors in the last month at 11-2 SU and 10-3 ATS in their last 13. At home, they have won six straight at 5-1 ATS.
Oklahoma City has taken both matchups against Utah so far this season both SU and ATS. The Thunder have won four straight ATS against the Jazz while going 3-1 SU and they’ve totally dominated this matchup at home for quite a while. In their last 18 home games against the Jazz, the Thunder are a near-perfect 17-1 SU and 13-4-1 ATS.
