2019 NFL Draft Betting Odds Roundup
The 2019 NFL Draft begins Thursday night, which opens a new batch of bets for football fans and bettors.
The big question heading into every draft is who is going to go No. 1? The popular pick among all the “experts” is quarterback Kyler Murray. He’s the oddsmakers’ favorite to be picked by the Arizona Cardinals at No. 1 as well. On the latest NFL draft prop odds at Bovada Sportsbook, Murray is a hefty favorite at -300. The only other player listed individually on the prop is defensive end Nick Bosa at +320. You can also get Any Other Player at +700.
With Murray being the favorite to go No. 1 in the draft, it shouldn’t surprise that he’s also a huge favorite to be the first quarterback off the board. On the “who will be the first QB drafted” prop, Murray is favored at -1400. The other quarterbacks to get odds include Dwayne Haskins at +800, Drew Lock at +1400 and Daniel Jones at +2000.
With Murray being so heavily favored to go first overall, the more difficult pick may be choosing which quarterback will be second off the board. There’s a prop for that too at Bovada and the favorite is Haskins at -120. He’s followed by Lock at +170 and Jones at +220. Murray slips in at +1600 if you want to throw away some money, and also available is Will Grier at +5000.
If first-round numbers are your thing, there are prop odds on how many of each position will be drafted in the first round.
Oddsmakers don’t expect a running back to go in first round
For quarterbacks, the number was set at 3.5 with the OVER favored at -330. If less than four quarterbacks go in the first round, the UNDER pays at +215.
For running backs, the total has been set incredibly low at 1. Even more amazing, the UNDER is a big favorite at -400, so the oddsmakers aren’t expecting any running backs to go in the first round. If you’re wondering, three running backs went in the first round last year.
For wide receivers, the total has been set at 2.5. The OVER is favored at -150 and the UNDER is listed at +110.
The position with the largest total is offensive linemen at 5.5. Even with the largest total, the OVER is still favored at -220. Six O-linemen went in the first round last season.
If you’re looking for a fun prop, you can choose whether the last player picked in the draft, aka Mr. Irrelevant, will be an offensive or defensive player. Both are listed at -115. Last year, Mr. Irrelevant was wide receiver Trey Quinn, and six of the last 10 have been an offensive player.
