MLB Betting: Price Has Been Right vs Twins
The AL Central-leading Minnesota Twins host the surging Boston Red Sox on Tuesday in the second game of a three-game series.
The Red Sox began the series on a five-game winning streak. They had also won their last seven road games. Minnesota was 5-2 in its last seven games.
On Tuesday night David Price (4-2, 3.52) is tabbed to start for Boston, and Michael Pineda (4-3, 5.04) goes for Minnesota.
Price is coming off a brutal start in which he was roughed up for six runs in 1.1 innings by the Texas Rangers. However, Boston still won 7-6 as a -240 favorite at Bovada Sportsbook. In 18 career outings against the Twins, Price is 10-4 with a 2.62 ERA.
Pineda has started against Boston 12 times in his career, compiling a 5-5 record and a 4.23 ERA.
Eflin has sparkled this season against Nationals
In the NL on Tuesday, East Division rivals clash when the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals continue a three-game set.
Before Monday’s series opener, the Phillies were struggling with a 2-5 mark in their last seven games. They’re also a lackluster 3-7 in their last 10 on the road. Washington is 2-3 in its last five and 4-2 in the last six at home.
Tuesday’s scheduled pitching matchup is Zach Eflin (6-6, 2.81) for Philadelphia and Erick Fedde (1-1, 3.68) for Washington.
Eflin was a hard-luck loser in his last start after allowing two runs on five hits in eight innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Philadelphia lost 2-0 as a +118 underdog at Bovada Sportsbook. In two starts against Washington this season, Eflin is 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA.
Fedde also faced Arizona in his last start and was on the losing end of a 5-0 contest after allowing five runs on six hits in six innings. In three career starts against the Phillies, Fedde is 2-1 with a 4.21 ERA.
D-backs 5-1-1 UNDER in last seven games
Also on tap Tuesday, two NL West rivals gunning for an NL wild card meet up when the Colorado Rockies begin a three-game series in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.
The Rockies are 4-5 in their last nine and a disappointing 2-5 in their last seven on the road. The Diamondbacks are 3-5 in their last eight at home, but they’ve been a solid bet for totals bettors taking the UNDER at 5-1-1 UNDER in their last seven.
The expected pitching matchup Tuesday is Antonio Senzatela (5-5, 5.48) for Colorado and Merrill Kelly (7-6, 3.73) for Arizona.
Senzatela faced Arizona on May 28 and posted a no-decision after allowing two runs on nine hits in six innings. Colorado won 6-2 as a -129 favorite.
Kelly opposed Senzatela in that contest and took the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits in 6.2 innings. In his last three starts, Kelly has held opposing teams to one run or less.
In this matchup, the Rockies have won five straight and they’re 6-1 in their last seven in Arizona.
