NBA Betting: NBA Finals Matchup Odds

It’s unknown when or even if the 2019-20 NBA Finals will be played. However, if they do eventually take place, bettors can potentially cash in on the NBA Finals matchup futures at Bovada Sportsbook.

In last year’s NBA Finals, the top team from the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors, faced the team with the second-best record in the East, the Toronto Raptors. The Warriors are the worst team in the West this season so a repeat of that matchup is impossible.

If bettors were handed another matchup of the No. 1 team from the West and the No. 2 team in the East, the Raptors would be back in the Finals, but this time they’d be facing the Los Angeles Lakers. That matchup would pay a profitable +1200 on the NBA Finals matchup odds at Bovada.

Lakers-Bucks is favorite NBA Finals matchup

Not surprisingly, the favorite matchup on the odds is the Lakers vs the NBA-best Milwaukee Bucks at +190. In fact, all the top matchups on the odds include either the Bucks or the Lakers.

Right behind the Lakers-Bucks matchup on the odds list is a pairing involving the other Los Angeles team, the Clippers, vs the Bucks at +275. That might be the way to go for bettors as the Lakers and Clippers will likely have to face off in the postseason to get to the Finals, and in the regular season so far the Clippers have a slight edge with a 2-1 record against the Lakers.

A few other matchups and odds involving the Lakers include the Lakers vs the Boston Celtics (+1000), the Lakers vs the Miami Heat (+1800) and the Lakers vs the Philadelphia 76ers (+1600).

Other matchups and odds involving the Bucks include the Bucks vs the Houston Rockets (+1000), the Bucks vs the Denver Nuggets (+1300) and the Bucks vs the Utah Jazz (+2000).

Celtics, Heat could be value picks to make Finals

If you’re looking for value matchups, taking either the Celtics or the Heat may be your best bets. Boston has a solid record against Toronto and Miami this season and the Heat are 2-0 against the Bucks.

If either side can pull off a playoff upset to get to the Finals, they’d pay much better than if the Raptors or Bucks end up representing the East. A couple of examples include Boston vs the Clippers (+1600) and Miami vs the Clippers (+2500).
