Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 Odds Preview
The NASCAR Cup Series rolls into Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday for the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400.
Last week the Cup Series did double duty at Pocono Raceway with races on back-to-back days. On the first day in the Pocono Organics 325, Kevin Harvick took the win with Denny Hamlin finishing right behind him in second place. The following day the results were reversed, as Hamlin won the Pocono 350 and Harvick placed second.
This weekend at Indianapolis, Harvick is the favorite at Bovada Sportsbook at +400. Naturally, Hamlin follows him on the odds list at +475.
Harvick slight favorite over Hamlin at Indianapolis
Harvick, who continues to lead the Cup Series standings, won at Indianapolis last season for his second career Cup Series win on the track. His first win was 16 years earlier, in 2003. Including last year’s win, Harvick has finished in the top 10 in his last six starts at Indianapolis.
Hamlin has never won at Indianapolis but in his last six starts on the track he has five top-six finishes, including cracking the top three on three occasions. Hamlin has been on a strong run lately with five top-five finishes, including two wins, in his last six races.
Following Harvick and Hamlin on the Bovada odds list are Kyle Busch at +500, Joey Logano at +800 and Brad Keselowski at +900.
Kyle Busch still looking for first victory of season
Busch’s search for his first win of the season continues after he finished fifth and 38th at Pocono last week. Busch has won twice at Indianapolis, in back-to-back years in 2015 and 2016. His fifth-place finish at Pocono last week was his lone top-five finish in his last five races.
Keselowski won at Indianapolis in 2018. In 10 career starts at Indianapolis, he has posted five top-10 finishes.
Logano has struggled in last four outings
Logano is winless in 11 Cup Series starts at Indianapolis, just missing victory lane last year when he finished second. Logano has hit a rough patch lately, finishing 27th, 17th, 36th and 24th in his last four races.
The rest of the top 10 on the Bovada odds list are Chase Elliott (+1000), Martin Truex Jr. (+1000), Ryan Blaney (+1000), Erik Jones (+2500) and Clint Bowyer (+2800).
Other drivers in this weekend’s field that have won Cup Series races at Indianapolis include four-time winner Jimmie Johnson (+4000) and Ryan Newman in 2013 (+10000).
