The fight for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference gets the spotlight treatment Thursday as all the teams still in the running are on the schedule.
The final playoff spot in the West is currently occupied by the Portland Trail Blazers. On Thursday, they’ll face the Brooklyn Nets.
Portland is 5-2 straight up and 5-1-1 against the spread in its seven bubble games. The Blazers have also been a strong OVER bet at 6-1 OVER. In their last game on Tuesday, they got past the Dallas Mavericks 134-131 as a 2.5-point favorite at Bovada Sportsbook.
Brooklyn has won its last three games SU and ATS to improve to 5-2 SU and ATS in seven bubble games. Last time out, the Nets defeated the Orlando Magic 108-96 as a 4.5-point underdog.
Earlier this season, way back in November, the Nets upset the Trail Blazers 119-115 as a 3.5-point underdog. In their last five against Portland, the Nets are 4-1 ATS.
Suns 10-2 ATS in last 12 vs Mavericks
The lone undefeated team in the bubble, the Phoenix Suns continue their run for a playoff spot Thursday when they face the Dallas Mavericks.
Phoenix improved to 7-0 SU and ATS in the bubble on Tuesday by defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 130-117 as a 9.5-point favorite.
Dallas lost to Portland 134-131 as a 2.5-point underdog on Tuesday to drop to 3-4 SU and 2-5 ATS in its bubble games.
Dallas and Phoenix met up in the bubble on August 2 and the Suns won 117-115 as a 6-point underdog. In their last 12 against Dallas, the Suns are 9-3 SU and 10-2 ATS.
Spurs seek fourth consecutive victory
The San Antonio Spurs will look to extend their three-game winning streak Tuesday when they face the Utah Jazz.
The Spurs’ streak has improved their bubble record to 5-2 SU and ATS. On Tuesday, they defeated the Houston Rockets 123-105 as a 4.5-point favorite.
Utah has disappointed in the bubble with a 2-5 SU and 3-4 ATS record. Last time out, the Jazz fell to Dallas 122-114 as a 6-point favorite.
The Spurs and Jazz met up on August 8 and the Spurs won 119-111 as a 9-point favorite. San Antonio is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS in three games against the Jazz this season.
Grizzlies have only one win in bubble
The last game on tap Thursday with Western Conference playoff implications is the Milwaukee Bucks vs the Memphis Grizzlies.
Milwaukee has been a disappointment for bettors in the bubble with a 3-4 record SU and ATS. On Tuesday, the Bucks defeated the Washington Wizards 126-113 as an 8.5-point favorite.
Memphis has been an awful 1-6 SU and ATS in the bubble and it could end up costing the team a spot in the postseason. On Tuesday, the Grizzlies were crushed by the Boston Celtics 122-107 as a 4.5-point underdog.
Back in December, the Bucks defeated the Grizzlies 127-114 as a 12.5-point favorite. In their last five against Memphis, Milwaukee is 4-1 SU and ATS.
