College Football Bowl Games Betting Preview
College football bowl season is underway with a loaded schedule that began earlier this week and runs throughout the holiday season.
There are two games on Tuesday, starting with the Tulane Green Wave vs the Nevada Wolf Pack in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. At Bovada Sportsbook, the Green Wave are a 2.5-point favorite.
Tulane is 6-1 against the spread in its last seven games. The Green Wave are also 4-1 straight up in their last five bowl games. Nevada has paid off as an underdog with a five-game ATS winning streak.
Cougars favored over Knights in Boca Raton Bowl
Tuesday’s other bowl game features the BYU Cougars as a 6-point favorite vs the Central Florida Knights in the Boca Raton Bowl.
The Knights are a lousy 2-6 ATS in their last eight games. As an underdog they’re 3-15 SU and 8-10 ATS in their last 18. BYU is 10-1 SU and 7-3-1 ATS in its last 11 games. The Cougars are also 2-4 SU in their last six bowl games.
The Cougars and Knights clashed in 2014 and Central Florida won 31-24 as a 2.5-point favorite.
Bulldogs have covered in 7 of last 8 bowl games
On Wednesday there are two bowl games on the schedule, starting with the Georgia Southern Panthers vs the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as a 5.5-point favorite in the New Orleans Bowl.
The Panthers has won five straight when favored, but they’re only 2-3 ATS. The Bulldogs have a six-game winning streak in bowl games with a 5-1 ATS mark. They’re also 7-1 ATS in their last eight bowl games.
Also on Wednesday, the Memphis Tigers face the Florida Atlantic Owls as an 8-point favorite in the Montgomery Bowl.
The Tigers have won 11 straight games when favored, but they’re 4-6-1 ATS, which includes going 1-5 ATS in their last six. The Owls are 4-0 SU and ATS in their last four bowl games.
Memphis and Florida Atlantic met up in the 2007 New Orleans Bowl, which the Owls won 44-27 as a 3-point underdog.
Rainbow Warriors have been strong UNDER play
On Christmas Eve, the Houston Cougars face the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors as a 13-point favorite in the New Mexico Bowl.
Houston in 3-4 SU and ATS in its last seven games and has lost three straight bowl games. Hawaii has been a strong UNDER play for totals bettors at 6-2 UNDER in its last eight games.
After opening your gifts on Christmas, tuck in for the Camellia Bowl, featuring the Buffalo Bulls against the Marshall Thundering Herd as a 3-point favorite.
Buffalo had an eight-game winning streak snapped in the MAC championship game, falling to the Ball State Cardinals 38-28 as a 12.5-point favorite.
Marshall had a seven-game winning streak snapped in the Conference USA championship after losing to the UAB Blazers 22-13 as a 4.5-point favorite. Marshall is 7-1 SU and ATS in its last eight bowl games.
