Las Vegas - Tom Izzo has been one of the best coaches in the country for a bunch of years. He started at Michigan State in 1995/96 with a 16-16 record, and for the next 25 years, has NOT had a losing season. He won a National Championship in 1999/2000, has been to 7 Final Fours and 14 Sweet 16s. He was elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006, and owns a spectacular 636-246 (72%) lifetime record. The only coaches working that have a better won/loss percentage are Mark Few (83%), Roy Williams (77%), Mike Krzyzewski (76%), John Calipari (76%) and Bill Self (76%). Except for Few, all are Hall of Famers, and Few will be there REAL soon. So, this past Thursday, Izzo took his Spartans to Rutgers, and they were EMBARRASSED. They lost by THIRTY, 67-37! Don't believe that Izzo has EVER lost by thirty. Will check. Of course, there were extenuating circumstances. MSU had not stepped on the court for TWENTY DAYS and the depth was extremely thin because of COVID 19. Check the starters and bench guys to see who is available before you open the wallet, but at +7.5, gotta buy some Sparty.
