Super Bowl 55 Prop Odds Preview Part 3

The final part of our Super Bowl 55 props previews looks at the Super Bowl MVP and some stats props for the big game.

We’ll start with Super Bowl MVP props. The heavy favorite at Bovada Sportsbook is Patrick Mahomes at -120. He won the MVP in last year’s Super Bowl and was the seventh quarterback in the last 10 Super Bowls to win MVP.

Mahomes favored over Brady to win Super Bowl MVP

With quarterbacks dominating the MVP award, it’s no surprise that Tom Brady follows Mahomes on the prop odds at +200. Brady is a four-time Super Bowl MVP winner, but he did not claim the award the last time he won the Super Bowl two years ago. That year, the MVP went to receiver Julian Edelman.

The last six times that the MVP did not go to a quarterback, it went to a wide receiver (four times) or linebacker (twice). Some of the wide receivers getting profitable odds at Bovada include Tyreek Hill (+1000), Mike Evans (+2800), Chris Godwin (+3000) and Antonio Brown (+5500). If you’re looking at linebackers that could sneak in and grab MVP honors, there’s Shaquil Barrett (+4500) and Lavonte David (+6600).

Next, let’s take a closer look at a few Super Bowl stats props that stood out for us.

Oddsmakers expect Chiefs to post longest touchdown

On the prop for the longest touchdown scored in the game, the Chiefs are favored at -145 while the Buccaneers are listed at +110. However, in the AFC championship game, all of the Chiefs’ touchdowns were under 10 yards.

You can also bet on the yardage of the longest touchdown in the game. The OVER/UNDER was set at 45.5 with the OVER favored at -120.

Think you can guess the yardage of the first field goal in the game? At Bovada, there’s a prop for that. The favorite is 30 to 36 yards at +205. The odds on a few other yardages include 1 to 22 yards at +600, 23 to 29 yards at +375, and 50-plus yards at +450.

Kickers also have place on Super Bowl prop odds list

There’s also a longest successful field goal prop. The OVER/UNDER was set at 47.5 with the UNDER a slight favorite at -120. Harrison Butker was 4-for-4 from 50-plus yards this season, while Ryan Succop was 1-for-2 from 50-plus.

Lastly, if you think you can predict the exact score of Super Bowl 55, you could cash in big. The Bovada oddsmakers have listed dozens of potential final scores: Kansas City 34, Tampa Bay 30, for example. Most scores listed have odds of +8000, +12500 or +17500. Pick the right one and you might be able to afford tickets to Super Bowl 56.
