Las Vegas - BUONGIORNO! Yea, heading to Italy and looking at the UEFA Champions League match between Atalanta and Real Madrid. And yes, it's ATALANTA, not Atlanta. It's a 113 year old club based in Bergamo, just a few clicks north of Milan. With a nickname like La Dea, The Goddess, how could you not look at this club. These kids from Bergamo know how to find the net. They've scored 53 goals in Serie A and allowed just 31 for a gorgeous +22 goal differential. Only first place Inter Milan (+33) and third place Juventus (+25) have better goal differentials.
Atalanta comes in on a sweet roll, scoring 11 goals in the last four games, and like a wide open style. That should work to perfection against a Real team that has been hit HARD by the injury bug. Karim Benzema, the Champions League's fifth-highest goalscorer is gone. And the rest of the hurtin' list includes Eden Hazard, Rodrygo, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Eder Militao, Daniel Carvajal and Federico Valverde.
Expecting La Dea to score a W on home soil before heading back to Madrid for the second leg next month. Also gonna take a look at going Over 2.5 goals. Why? Atalanta has banged home 53 goals in the last 15 UEFA Champions League matches, an average of 3.53 per game, while Real has scored 20 goals in the last six matches, for an average of 3.33 per. So, we go HIGH!
Dribbling on to the college hardwood, gonna tickle Arkansas over Alabama. Everyone is raving about the Crimson Tide hoopsters. Head coach Nate Oats just got a multi-million dollar extension till 2026/27. And the Tide is sitting on top of the SEC with a 13-1 conference record. The Razorbacks are right behind in the second slot at 9-4, but with only three games left, will not be able to catch 'Bama. However, when the Hogs visited Tuscaloosa back in January, the Tide obliterated Arkansas, 90-59. That's THIRTY ONE points, and that's UGLY! The Razorbacks have won seven of the last eight overall, with six covers in the last seven games. And since Arkansas has won 13 of 14 at home this season, it's Sooie Pig, or, Pig Sooie, for the money. BOOK IT!
