Las Vegas - You'll hear conflicting opinions on the NFL preseason. Some will tell you that it's the EASIEST game to beat. Some will tell you to RUN in the opposite direction and wait till the regular season starts. Where are we? We're closer to the run away option than betting the exhibition games. You have no idea who's gonna play, how long they're gonna play and when they're gonna play. Of course, there are a handful of coaches that ROCK the preseason, and we would suggest you take a look. NO ONE does it better than Baltimore's John Harbaugh at 37-15 against the spread. Pete Carroll LOVES the games that don't count and has compiled an outstanding 38-18 record ATS, and Jon Gruden at 24-13-3 has made a few bucks for those that follow. As for tonight's action, Mike Tomlin is nothing special at 29-27, while Mike McCarthy is a few ticks better at 28-24. Keep in mind that this preseason will be DIFFERENT than any before, with ONLY three games instead of four. How will it affect these coaches and teams? Don't know yet, so my position is, save the bankroll for a few weeks, and see what the scores bring us.
Looking to stay in the mountains one more day and gonna try the Rockies over the Cubs. We expect German Marquez to start for Colorado, but it could be another arm. The reason for the play, no matter who starts for the Rockies is, AGAINST Jake Arrieta. We documented all the holes in the Cubbies offense yesterday, but Arrieta's recent work is very, very, VERY UGLY! He has not won a game since May 25, and his last three starts have been, how can we say, ATROCIOUS. What does atrocious mean Eck? It means he has allowed 17 hits and 12 earned runs in ONLY 7 innings of work. WHAT! Yea, giving up more than two hits per innings with a STAGGERING 15.43 ERA. Gimme the Rocks for the money!
