Las Vegas - Unless he has found another pitch to use against the Blue Jays, Matt Harvey is looking at a world of hurt. Let me present his last three outings against Toronto. On June 20, he started in Baltimore and gave up 9 hits and 4 earned runs in 4 innings. On June 25, in Buffalo, he allowed 6 hits and 3 earned runs in 5 innings. Then on July 7 back in Baltimore, he was torched for 9 hits and 6 earned runs in 4 innings. So, we add. That's 24 hits and 13 earned in just 13 innings. BIG OUCH! That's almost 2 hits per inning with an ERA of 9.00. Now, if you take a look at Steven Matz, you'll find that he is twirling. Put him down for only two wins in his last five starts, but he has been very stingy, allowing just 3 earned runs over 27 innings for a skinny 1.33 ERA. You don't even need a passport tonight to walk to the bank and collect on Toronto.
NBA hoops is less than two months away, but we understand that Ben Simmons WILL NOT be playing in Philly. He said a West Coast team would fit him, and guess what, the Warriors are the early favorite to sign him at 3/1. The T'wolves are 4/1, the Kings 5/1, the Spurs and Raptors both 8/1, the Blazers at 10/1, followed by the Thunder and Wizards both at 15/1. Bye bye Ben, and as the guy on 'Seinfeld' would say, NO MORE CHEESESTEAKS FOR YOU!!!
