nfl week1
Las Vegas - Kick it off today with the Seahawks -3 points over the Colts. On one side of the field you have Carson Wentz, who just returned to practice on Wednesday after sitting out the entire preseason with a foot injury. You remember WentzSylvania right? You remember 16 TDs, 15 INTs and FIFTY SACKS! Sadly, we do too. He'll try to resurrect his career in Indy with Frank Reich, but without Indy's best player, WR T.Y. Hilton, it might take a while. And on the other side of the field, you have Russell Wilson. Case CLOSED. Seattle for the money!
Then we're looking at the Broncos -3 points over the Giants. Biggest line move on the NFL board in this game with an open of pick'em and Denver now -3. Why? Here's two reasons why. Teddy Bridgewater and a NASTY defense. Start with the defense. We normally don't pay that much attention to the preseason, but the Broncos D did NOT allow a TD in three games. And they get back All-Pro Von Miller who missed all of 2020. Then there's Teddy Bridge. The guy is only 28 but it seems like he has been around forever, and he knows how to manage a game. He also knows how to complete passes, and gets more accurate every year. In 2018 he completed 60.9%, in 2019 it was 67.9% and last season, up to 69.1%. Then you look across the field at New York's QB Daniel Jones, and it's UH OH. Jones threw almost as many INTs (10) as he did TDs (11). And it looks like star RB Saquon Barkley will probably be limited, if he plays at all, while new WR Kenny Golladay has a hamstring issue and TE Evan Engram is listed as doubtful. Expecting the Broncs to BUST out of the starting gate with a comfy W.
Goin' to Kaycee but gonna rock the Browns +5.5 points over the Chiefs. Getting in the kitchen with Baker. Mayfield was fantastic last season, leading Cleveland to a 12-6 record and the second round of the playoffs. Sadly, they lost to Kansas City, 22-17, but the final margin was just five points. Baker has ALL eleven starters back from last season, plus he might even get OBJ, Odell Beckham Jr. back, one of the most dynamic playmakers in the league. With or without OBJ, expecting the Brownies to keep it tight against a Kaycee club that has covered only ONE of its last ELEVEN!
Close out our day on a neutral field in Jacksonville and going OVER 49.5 in the Packers/Saints matchup. You think Aaron Rodgers wants to make a statement in the opener? OH YEA! And this is the perfect team to do it against. Last season, they played at New Orleans, and the final score was Green Bay 37-30. Rodgers was 21 of 32 for 283 yards with 3 TDs and zero INTs. Of course the Saints 30 points came mostly from the right arm of Drew Brees, but don't sleep of Jameis Winston. He CAN put points on the board, for BOTH teams. OVER 49.5 is the way to the bank.
Also banking on the Other Silver Brother again this season, with some gorgeous 10-point three team teasers. The OSB starts with a total in the Bills/Steelers game, takes the 48 point total down to 38 and goes Over. Then he is on the 49ers and drops San Francisco from -8 to +2 points against the Lions. Another eight point favorite for the money, slicing the Rams from -8 to +2 points against the Bears.
Can't let you go without a baseball pick, so gimme the Braves with Max Fried over the Marlins.
