College Football Week 5 Betting Odds Preview
A Top 25 SEC matchup featuring two of the top Heisman contenders highlights the Week 5 college football schedule when the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide host the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels.
At Bovada Sportsbook, Alabama is a 14.5-point favorite. Bryce Young and the Crimson Tide improved to 4-0 straight up and 2-2 against the spread last week by crushing Southern Miss 63-14 as a 45-point favorite. Alabama has won 18 straight at 12-6 ATS, and the Tide are 30-0 SU and 17-13 ATS in their last 30 home games.
Matt Corral and the Rebels were on their bye week last week and head into this week 7-1 SU and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games. However, it hasn’t been as easy for the Rebels on the road, where they’re 2-8 SU and 4-6 ATS in their last 10. As an underdog, they’ve been a bad bet at 2-16 SU and 6-11-1 ATS in their last 18.
Last season, Alabama defeated Ole Miss 63-48 as a 24-point favorite. In their last 17 against the Rebels, the Crimson Tide are 15-2 SU but only 6-11 ATS.
Razorbacks have covered 10 of last 13 games as underdog
There are also a pair of top-10 matchups on the schedule this week starting with the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks at the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs as 18-point underdogs.
Georgia is coming off a 62-0 shutout of the Vanderbilt Commodores as a 36-point favorite. That was the Bulldogs’ eighth straight win during which they’re 5-3 ATS. For totals bettors, Georgia is 7-2 OVER in its last nine.
Arkansas is 4-0 SU and ATS on the season after upsetting the Texas A&M Aggies 20-10 as a 4.5-point underdog last week. On the road, the Razorbacks have been terrible at 1-13 SU and 5-9 ATS in their last 14 games. As an underdog, Arkansas is 10-3 ATS in its last 13.
Last season, Georgia defeated Arkansas 37-10 as a 28-point favorite. In their last nine vs the Razorbacks, the Bulldogs are 8-1 SU and 4-4-1 ATS.
Bearcats favored to end Notre Dame’s home winning streak
The other top-10 matchup this week is the No. 7 Cincinnati Bearcats at the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish as a 2.5-point road favorite.
Notre Dame delivered a 41-13 upset win over the Wisconsin Badgers as a 6-point underdog last week. At home, the Fighting Irish have won 26 straight at 15-11 ATS and when favored they’re 30-0 SU and 16-13-1 ATS in their last 30 games.
The Bearcats were on their bye week last week and are 13-1 SU and 9-5 ATS in their last 14 games. On the road, Cincinnati is 6-2 ATS in its last eight and as a road favorite has won seven straight at 4-3 ATS.
Against teams from the AAC, the Fighting Irish are 11-1 SU and 4-8 ATS in their last 12 games.
