Las Vegas - College football, boxing and Breeders' Cup. We're loaded today, so lets ROCK!
Are you a fan of the 'letdown theory' in college football? If you are, then you're probably betting Purdue over Michigan State. We AIN'T! And this is why. The Spartans are sitting at 8-0, #3 in the College Football Playoff Rankings. With Ohio State on the table in a few weeks, Sparty has GOTTA be all in on Purdue. And since MSU's strength is the run game, and the Boilermakers have YUGE problems stopping it (they gave up 290 yards to Wisky), then you need to throw a handful of chips at Michigan State.
Shift to the evening, and we're recommending Alabama -28 over LSU. Yea, TWENTY EIGHT. Why would anyone lay such a ginormous bundle? Well, REVENGE to start. Scroll back to 2019 when the Tigers came to Tuscaloosa and posted a wild 46-41 victory over the Crimson Tide. Someone got hold of a video from the LSU locker room which showed Ed Orgeron going kinda ballistic. He told his players, 'We're going to beat their ass in recruiting! We're going to beat their ass every time they see us! You understand me? Roll tide, what? F--- you!' Damn. Apparently, Nick Saban is not about revenge. SURE, wink, wink! So why were all the screens at the training facility playing back all the losses from the previous years? Hmmmmm. One other tiny point. 'Bama is pretty good off rest. Last season, the Tide came into the Kentucky game with a few weeks off and OBLITERATED the Wildcats, 63-3. So, revenge + rest = BLOWOUT CITY BAABBBEEE!
For all my horse lovers, my guy Martin Calia is back with some Breeders' Cup winners. Talk to us Marty.
'I've picked three of the five BC races starting with #6, the BC Juvenile Turf Sprint. I landed on number 8, Avery Jane. She is the ML favorite at 5/2 and is trained by Wesley Ward. Ward has won this race two of the last three years and boasts some gaudy training numbers. He is a 29% trainer, 29% with 2 year olds, 26% turf sprinting, 24% winning last race, 22% turf, and 30% sprinting. Plus the trainer/jockey combination with Tyler Gaffalione is 29%. It looks as if speed on the turf is the way to the winners circle. If Avery gets an uncontested lead it's gate-to-wire. And remember nobody gets their horses to break from the gate better than WW! The bet is a full Benjamin on #8 Avery Jane and a $5 exacta, wheel #8 with all.
In race #9, the big favorite was scratched (Jack Christopher), so we landed on maiden Commandperformance. How can a maiden beat winners in the BC Juvenile? Well, I learned my lesson when Chad Brown sent out Good Magic several years ago as a maiden and won this race. Now Todd Pletcher sends #10 Commandperformance into the race as a maiden and he is the pick. The bet is a Benjamin on #10 and a $5 exacta, wheel #10 with all.
In race #10, we have the BC Juvenile Turf, and I'm leaning to a box of numbers, #1 (Modern Games), #2 (Albahr) and #14 (Dubawi Legend). Let's box the these three for $5 in exacta and trifecta wagering. Also lets play $20 across the board on number 14.
If you're thinking about rolling on the Canelo Alvarez/Caleb Plant fight tonight, don't think you, or ANYONE is gonna throw down $900 to win back $100. My throw is Alvarez to KO Plant, and will put up $185 to win back $100.
