army dad

Las Vegas - My dad was Army, my heart is Army, but my wallet says, WAIT a minute. The Black Knights jumped up to a -6.5 point favorite after it was announced that Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz named freshman QB Brady Cook as the starter, replacing Connor Bazelak. It's a small sample size, but Cook hit on 19 of 24 throws for 107 yards and a TD this season. Totally understand that this matchup HEAVILY favors Army, because the Cadets bring the second-best rushing offense in the country to the table (Air Force is #1). And Mizzou is the absolute definition of UGLY, sitting as the #14 club in the SEC against the run. If you're not counting, the SEC has ONLY 14 teams. But, and this is a BIG one, we're still talking SEC! The Tigers had to face Georgia, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky and Central Michigan. What do all those teams have in common? Every single one is playing in a bowl game. Army's 8-4 record is sweet, but half of the wins have come against Connecticut, Bucknell, Massachusetts and Navy. What do those teams have in common? NONE of 'em is going bowling. Not gonna step out with both hands, but would buy the hook to +7 and tickle Mizzou in this spot.
