AFC Divisional Round Betting Odds Preview
The oddsmakers are expecting some close games in the AFC during the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, with both games currently featuring small spreads.
On Saturday in the AFC, the divisional round begins with the Cincinnati Bengals at the Tennessee Titans. At Bovada Sportsbook, the Titans are 3.5-point home favorites.
Cincinnati made it through the wild-card round last week with a 26-19 win over the Las Vegas Raiders as 6-point favorites. With that win, Cincinnati improved to 4-1 straight up and 5-0 against the spread in its last five games. The Bengals have been a solid road bet lately at 6-1 ATS in their last seven, and as an underdog they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five.
Bengals underdogs after snapping playoff skid
Last week’s win over the Raiders was the Bengals’ first playoff victory since 1991. It snapped an eight-game playoff losing streak during which they were 0-7-1 ATS. As an underdog in the playoffs, the Bengals are 0-8 SU and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight.
As the top seed in the AFC, the Titans received a bye through Wild Card Weekend. This season they were 12-5 SU and 10-7 ATS. In their last five games, they’re 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS, and they’re 3-5 ATS in their last eight. At home this season, Tennessee was 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS.
The Titans have lost their last two playoff games both SU and ATS. In their last nine in the playoffs, they’re 3-6 SU and 4-5 ATS, while at home in the playoffs they’re 1-7 ATS in their last eight.
In this matchup, the Bengals are 5-2 SU and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games. In Tennessee, the Bengals are 3-2 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five.
Chiefs, Bills coming off resounding triumphs
In Sunday’s AFC matchup, the Kansas City Chiefs host the Buffalo Bills as 2-point favorites.
Buffalo rolled through the wild-card round with a 47-17 win over the New England Patriots as a 4.5-point favorite. That was the Bills’ fifth straight win, during which they’re 4-0-1 ATS. On the road this season, Buffalo was 5-3 SU and ATS. As an underdog, the Bills are 5-3 SU and 6-2 ATS in their last eight and they’ve gone OVER the posted total in eight straight games.
In the playoffs, the Bills have lost six straight on the road with a 1-5 ATS record. As a playoff underdog, Buffalo has lost nine straight at 2-7 ATS and is 1-12 SU and 3-10 ATS in the last 13.
Both teams have been OVER machines
Kansas City crushed the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-21 as an 11.5-point favorite on Wild Card Weekend. The Chiefs are 10-1 SU and 7-4 ATS in their last 11 games and have gone OVER the posted total in six straight.
In the playoffs, the Chiefs are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven. At home in the playoffs, they’ve won six straight at 5-1 ATS.
In Week 5, Buffalo defeated Kansas City 38-20 as a 3-point road underdog. Despite that loss, the Chiefs are 5-2 SU and ATS in their last seven vs the Bills. In last year’s AFC championship game, the Chiefs defeated the Bills 38-24 as a 3-point favorite.
