UFC Betting: Covington vs Masvidal Odds
UFC fans and bettors will be delivered another altered event card this weekend when the UFC returns to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for UFC 272: Covington vs Masvidal.
The main event this weekend was supposed to be a UFC featherweight title bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway, but that was scrapped after an injury to Holloway. Instead, the main event is a welterweight bout featuring Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal. At Bovada Sportsbook, Covington is a -335 favorite and Masvidal a +260 underdog.
Covington has lost two of his last three fights, which has dropped his record to 16-3 with four wins by knockout and four by submission. He last fought at UFC 268 in November when he lost to Kamaru Usman by unanimous decision as a +220 underdog.
Masvidal has dropped his last two fights and owns an overall record of 35-15 with 16 wins by KO and two by submission. He last fought at UFC 261 in April and also lost to Usman, falling by second-round KO as a +250 underdog.
Undefeated Mitchell favored in featherweight match
Also on the main card this weekend is a featherweight bout between Edson Barboza and Bryce Mitchell. At Bovada, Mitchell is a -170 favorite and Barboza a +140 underdog.
Mitchell is undefeated in his professional MMA career at 14-0 with nine wins by submission. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 181 in October 2020, defeating Andre Fili by unanimous decision.
Barboza is 2-4 in his last six fights and his overall record stands at 22-10 with 13 wins by KO. He last fought at UFC on ESPN 30 in August and was beaten by Giga Chikadze via third-round TKO as a -130 favorite.
Moicano challenges dos Anjos on short turnaround
One other interesting fight on the main card is a catchweight fight featuring Rafael dos Anjos and Renato Moicano. On the original card, dos Anjos was supposed to face Rafael Fiziev, but Fiziev withdrew after testing positive for COVID-19 and Moicano replaced him only five days before the fight. At Bovada, dos Anjos is a -174 favorite and Moicano a +137 underdog,
Dos Anjos is 2-4 in his last six fights and owns an overall record of 30-13 with five wins by KO and 10 by submission. He last fought in November 2020 at UFC Fight Night 182 where he defeated Paul Felder by split decision as a -220 favorite.
Moicano is 16-4-1 with nine wins by submission. He fought last month at UFC 271 on February 12. That night, he defeated Alexander Hernandez by second-round submission as a -175 favorite.
