golf and Ks
Las Vegas - Taking a trip to the Old Course at St. Andrews a day early and throwing a few British Pounds on Shane Lowry. And of course, we have reasons. Lowry has played solid golf without a W this year, but he did tie for third at the Masters, finished second at the Honda Classic and another third at the RBC Heritage. He kinda fell off the grid for a while before playing the Irish Open. Looked like Shane was not gonna make the weekend in Ireland, but he birdied the final four holes to make the cut. And caught fire in the last two rounds, carding a 68 and 67 for a top 10 finish. If you look at some of the analytics, like strokes gained, he is number four on the list just behind Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele and Harold Varner III. But the piece of research that put me over the top is, Lowry has a British Open trophy at his house from the win in 2019 at the Royal Portrush Golf Club. And not only did he win, he SMOKED the field at 15 under par with Tommy Fleetwood coming in 2nd at nine under. So, gimme some Shane at a big fat price of 25/1.
Also gonna bounce down to the ATL tonight and buy the Braves with Spencer Strider over the Mets. Not sure if he is gonna keep up this pace, but Strider has been absolutely LIGHTS OUT! Specifically in his last three starts. Define lights out Eck. Okay. We're talking 18 innings and only 1 earned run for 0.50 ERA. But even better is, 30 Ks in those 18 innings. Yea, THIRTY Ks! WHEW! Gimme Atlanta for the money.
