College Football Week 2 Betting Odds Preview

After starting out the season with a blowout win last week, the No. 1-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide hit the road this weekend to face the Texas Longhorns.

At Bovada Sportsbook, the Crimson Tide are 20.5-point road favorites. Last week, Alabama destroyed the Utah State Aggies 55-0 as a 42-point favorite. Despite Alabama’s offensive output, the game went UNDER the posted total and the Tide are now 7-3 UNDER in their last 10. In those 10 games, Alabama is 9-1 straight up and 6-4 against the spread.

Texas began the season with a 52-10 win over the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks as a 37.5-point favorite. Even with the win, the Longhorns are only 2-6 SU and ATS in their last eight games. As a home underdog, they’ve lost three straight at 0-2-1 ATS, and they’re 3-8 SU and 5-5-1 ATS in their last 11.

This is the first matchup between the Crimson Tide and the Longhorns since the BCS National Championship Game in January 2010. Alabama won that game 37-21 as a 4-point favorite.

Cougars host Bears in only ranked matchup on Week 2 schedule

The only ranked matchup on the schedule this week is the No. 25 BYU Cougars hosting the No. 10 Baylor Bears as 3.5-point favorites at Bovada.

BYU is coming off a 50-21 win over the South Florida Bulls as an 11.5-point favorite. The Cougars are 6-1 SU in their last seven games but 3-4 ATS. At home, they are 14-1 SU and 9-5-1 ATS in their last 15.

Baylor crushed the Albany Great Danes 69-10 as a 42.5-point favorite last week. The Bears have won six straight at 5-1 ATS. On the road, they’ve been a disappointment at 3-7 SU and 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10. However, as an underdog they’re 7-2 ATS in their last nine.

Last season, Baylor defeated BYU 38-24 as a 5.5-point home favorite.

Gators have failed to cover spread in 6 straight games as favorite

In the SEC this weekend, the Florida Gators host the No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats. At Bovada, the Gators are 4.5-point favorites.

Florida is coming off a 29-26 upset win over the Utah Utes as a 2.5-point underdog. The win snapped a seven-game ATS losing streak for the Gators. When favored, Florida has lost six straight ATS and 11 of its last 13 games.

Kentucky defeated the Miami RedHawks 37-13 as a 15-point favorite last week. Kentucky has won five straight at 3-1-1 ATS and is 7-3-1 ATS in its last 11. On the road, the Wildcats are 4-6 SU and 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10.

Last season, Kentucky upset Florida 20-13 as a 7.5-point underdog to improve to 4-0-1 ATS in their last five vs the Gators. In the last 12 matchups between Florida and Kentucky, the Gators are 11-1 SU and 5-6-1 ATS.
