College Football Week 3 Betting Odds Preview

The newly minted No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs hit the road this weekend to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.

At Bovada Sportsbook, the Bulldogs are 24.5-point road favorites this weekend. Last week, Georgia blanked the Samford Bulldogs 33-0 but failed to cover as a 53-point favorite. Through two games this season, Georgia has outscored opponents 82-3.

For totals bettors, Georgia has posted four straight UNDERs and the Bulldogs are 10-3 UNDER in their last 13. On the road, the Bulldogs have won seven in a row straight up and six straight against the spread. They were favored in each game.

South Carolina is 1-1 SU and ATS on the season following last week’s 44-20 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks as a 9-point underdog. As a home underdog, the Gamecocks are 2-5 SU and ATS in their last seven, and 4-8-1 ATS in their last 13.

Last season, Georgia defeated South Carolina 40-13 as a 31.5-point favorite. Georgia is 6-1 SU and 4-3 ATS in its last seven vs South Carolina.

Oregon seeking 21st consecutive victory on home field

There are two ranked matchups on the schedule this week, starting with the No. 12 BYU Cougars at the No. 25 Oregon Ducks. The Ducks may be ranked lower but they’re a 3.5-point home favorite at Bovada.

Oregon posted its first win last week, hammering the Eastern Washington Eagles 70-14 as a 27-point favorite. At home, Oregon has won 20 straight with a 9-11 ATS record. When favored, the Ducks have won six in a row SU and four straight ATS.

BYU is 2-0 SU and ATS after defeating the Baylor Bears 26-20 in double overtime as a 2.5-point favorite last week. The Cougars have won seven of their last eight with a 4-4 ATS record. They’ve been strong as an underdog at 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five, and 8-3 ATS in their last 11.

BYU and Oregon last met up in the 2006 Las Vegas Bowl and BYU won 38-8 as a 3.5-point favorite.

Aggies favored over Hurricanes coming off upset loss

The other ranked matchup is the No. 13 Miami Hurricanes at the No. 24 Texas A&M Aggies. The lower-ranked squad is favored here as well, with the Aggies listed as 5-point home favorites.

Texas A&M is coming off a 17-14 upset loss to the Appalachian State Mountaineers as an 18-point favorite. The Aggies have lost three straight ATS, including their last two at home. When favored, they’re only 1-4 ATS in their last five.

Miami is 2-0 SU but only 1-1 ATS after last week’s 30-7 win over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles as 27.5-point favorites. Miami is 5-1 ATS in its last six road games. As an underdog, the Hurricanes have won three straight ATS and they’re 7-3 ATS in their last 10.

Miami and Texas A&M last met up in 2008 when the Hurricanes rolled past the Aggies 41-23 as a 2.5-point favorite.
