NFL Week 5 Betting Odds Preview
Several interesting divisional matchups highlight the Week 5 NFL schedule, starting with the Miami Dolphins visiting the New York Jets on Sunday.
Because Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is out on Sunday, the Dolphins are only 3.5-point road favorites at Bovada Sportsbook.
Miami suffered its first loss of the season last week, falling 27-15 to the Cincinnati Bengals as a 4-point underdog. The Dolphins are now 11-2 straight up and 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games. When listed as a road favorite, Miami is 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS in its last six.
The Jets improved to 2-2 SU and ATS on the season by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-20 last week as 3-point underdogs. The Jets are 5-3 ATS in their last eight but have struggled at home, going 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS in their last eight. As a home underdog, the Jets have lost seven straight at 1-6 ATS.
Last season, Miami won both games against the Jets with a 1-1 ATS record. In the last nine games against New York, Miami is 8-1 SU and 7-1-1 ATS.
Bengals have covered in four of last five at Baltimore
On Sunday night, AFC North rivals clash when the Baltimore Ravens host the Cincinnati Bengals as 3-point favorites.
Baltimore blew a 20-3 lead last week in a 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills as a 3-point underdog. With the loss, the Ravens are now 2-8 SU and 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10. At home, the Ravens have lost five straight with a 2-2-1 ATS record.
Cincinnati got past Miami 27-15 as a 4-point favorite last week. The Bengals have been a strong road bet at 6-1 ATS in their last seven, and 9-2 ATS in their last 11. As an underdog, they’ve won six straight ATS.
Last season, Cincinnati won both games against Baltimore SU and ATS. In their last five games in Baltimore, the Bengals are 4-1 ATS.
Chiefs solid favorites at home over Raiders on MNF
On Monday night, it’s an AFC West battle between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. At Bovada, the Chiefs are 7.5-point favorites.
Kansas City is coming off a 41-31 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a 2-point underdog. At home, the Chiefs are 9-1 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10, although they have lost their last two games ATS.
The Raiders picked up their first win of the season in Week 4, topping the Denver Broncos 32-23 as 2.5-point favorites. Las Vegas continues to have trouble on the road with three straight losses SU and ATS, and a 1-5 ATS record in the last six.
Last season, the Chiefs were 2-0 SU and ATS vs the Raiders. Kansas City has dominated this matchup with a 13-2 SU record and 10-5 ATS mark in the last 15 meetings with the Raiders.
