dart from game of thrones
Las Vegas - As most of you who sit at my table know, I never bet on or against the Yankees. Why? Because I bleed pinstripes. But there is another game that caught my eye, and it's the Dodgers over the Padres. Totally understand that San Diego drives up to L.A. with Uncle Mo(mentum) in the back seat, but Dodger Stadium has a way of stopping Uncle Mo dead. The Dodgers had not announced the game one starter while we were at the keyboard, but it doesn't really matter. It's either Julio Urias or Clayton Kershaw. Win/win. But we're focused on San Diego's arm. And when we looked at Mike Clevinger, the optics were very UGLY. Clevinger started three times against the Dodgers this season, and never made it past the 5th inning. He started one game down in San Diego and was kinda okay, giving up 4 earned runs in 5 innings. But when the Padres rolled up the I-5 and got off at Stadium Way, the results for Clevinger were, lemme find the right word...PATHETIC comes to mind. He was BOMBED for 11 hits and 10 earned runs in only 8 innings. YIKES! That's an 11.25 ERA. OUCH! Padres owner Peter Seidler said the Dodgers are the dragon up the freeway that were trying to slay. Unless San Diego finds a scorpion dart from the 'Game of Thrones,' don't think there is gonna be any slaying tonight!
You probably heard that Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule was fired yesterday. Where's he gonna go? Our friends at OddsShark have a few possibilities. Nebraska is the favorite at +$150, followed by Auburn +$300, Wisconsin +$500, Arizona State +$750, Colorado +$800, Stanford +$1000 and Oklahoma +$1200.
