Super Bowl 58 Futures Odds Preview

The Kansas City Chiefs are still celebrating their win in Super Bowl 57 but bettors are already looking toward next season and the Super Bowl 58 futures odds.

At Bovada Sportsbook, the Chiefs are favored to repeat as Super Bowl champs at +600. The Chiefs’ win was their second in four years and as long as Patrick Mahomes is around, they should remain contenders. Mahomes will also have most of his reliable weapons back, including Travis Kelce, as only Jerick McKinnon and JuJu Smith-Schuster are free agents.

Chiefs favored to repeat as Super Bowl champs

One thing that could disrupt a Chiefs repeat is a coaching change. There have been a few unsubstantiated rumors that Andy Reid could hang it up after his second Super Bowl win. If Reid does depart, it could cause a bump in the road for the Chiefs during the transition to his successor.

Following the Chiefs on the Super Bowl futures are the Buffalo Bills at +750 and the Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, all at +900.

The Bills were listed as Super Bowl favorites several times during the past season, but fell short with a second-round playoff exit. To take the next step, the Bills need more consistency and better luck in the injury department. Josh Allen played most of last season with a bad elbow on his throwing arm, while the Bills defense took a step back following a season-ending injury to Von Miller at Thanksgiving.

Bengals figure to be a stout challenger in AFC

It looks like Cincinnati will be the Chiefs’ AFC nemesis for the foreseeable future. Joe Burrow and the Bengals’ dynamic offense finally lost to Kansas City in this year’s AFC championship game after taking the previous three matchups against Mahomes. Don’t be surprised if the next few AFC title games feature Cincinnati, Kansas City or both teams.

The Eagles fell one win short of a Super Bowl title but should remain the team to beat in a much weaker NFC. Jalen Hurts proved himself as a top QB this season and he’ll have both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith back next year. The only big names the Eagles may need to replace are running back Miles Sanders and linebacker Fletcher Cox, who are both free agents.

Niners’ QB slot one of several in spotlight

The 49ers succeeded in the face of a ton of adversity this season but in the end an injury to their third-string QB was too much. Now the question facing the 49ers is who starts at QB in Week 1? Brock Purdy led the 49ers to the NFC championship game but an elbow injury leaves him in question for the start of the season. Trey Lance, the 49ers’ original starter last season, was lost early in the year but could get the job back. Jimmy Garoppolo is a free agent and will probably draw interest elsewhere.

Heading into the offseason, coaching changes and quarterback moves could cause a shuffle in the Super Bowl odds. Just a few quarterbacks who could find new homes include the aforementioned Garoppolo, Derek Carr, Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson.

The odds on a few other notable teams right now include the Baltimore Ravens at +1800, Los Angeles Chargers at +2000, Jacksonville Jaguars at +2500 and New York Jets at +2500.
