NBA Playoffs Betting: Tuesday Night Slate
Three NBA playoff series reach Game 2 on Tuesday night, starting with the Boston Celtics facing the Atlanta Hawks as heavy betting favorites.
At the Bovada Sportsbook the Celtics are 10-point favorites at home versus the Hawks. In the series opener the Celtics rolled to a 112-99 win as 10-point favorites. Jaylen Brown led Boston with 29 points and 12 rebounds in that win.
Boston has won four in a row straight up and five in a row against the spread heading into Tuesday night. At home they’ve won eight straight at 7-1 ATS. Home-court advantage hasn’t always been an advantage in the playoffs for Boston as the Celtics are 5-5 SU and ATS in their last 10 such games.
Atlanta is 4-10 SU and 5-9 ATS in its last 14 road games. They’ve struggled against Boston all season with six straight losses against the Celtics both SU and ATS. In Boston the Hawks are 1-9 SU and 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games.
Cavaliers favorites hosting Knicks on Tuesday
Also in the Eastern Conference on Tuesday night the Cleveland Cavaliers host the New York Knicks as 5.5-point favorites in Game 2 of their series.
The Knicks took the series opener, upsetting the Cavaliers 101-97 as 5.5-point underdogs. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 27 points in the win.
Following that Game 1 win New York improved to 6-2 SU and 5-2-1 ATS in its last eight games. On the road they’re 3-1 SU and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games. Before winning Game 1 the Knicks had lost five straight as an underdog in the playoffs.
Cleveland is 1-4-1 ATS in its last six games, and at home they’ve lost four straight ATS. When favored they’re 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven. The Cavaliers haven’t tasted much playoff success lately with seven straight losses and a 2-5 ATS record in their last seven playoff games. In this matchup the Knicks have won four straight both SU and ATS.
Clippers are underdogs in Game 2 at the Suns
In the Western Conference the Los Angeles Clippers look to take a 2-0 series lead over the Phoenix Suns when they meet up in Game 2 of their first-round series as 7.5-point road underdogs on Tuesday.
The Clippers were 7.5-point underdogs in the series opener as well and defeated Phoenix 115-110. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 38 points.
Los Angeles has won four straight at 2-2 ATS, but as an underdog the Clippers are 4-7 SU and 5-6 ATS in their last 11 games. The Clippers have won three straight against the Suns, and in Phoenix they’ve also won their last three and posted a 5-2 ATS record in their last seven.
The Suns have lost three in a row straight up, and their loss in Game 1 snapped an eight-game winning streak when favored during which they were 4-4 ATS. In the playoffs the Suns are 1-5 SU and ATS in their last six, with four of those losses coming as the favorite.
