NFL Week 3 Betting Preview

Week 3 of the NFL season gets started on Thursday night with the San Francisco 49ers hosting the New York Giants as double-digit betting favorites.

Vikings, Chargers meet in pick'em matchup

On Sunday two winless teams meet when the Minnesota Vikings host the Los Angeles Chargers. The oddsmakers have listed this game as a pick’em.

The Vikings delivered a push for bettors last week in their 34-28 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles as 6-point underdogs. The Vikings are 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games, and at home they’ve lost four straight ATS.

The Chargers were 2.5-point favorites last week in their 27-24 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Overall the Chargers have lost four straight at 1-3 ATS, and in games listed as a pick’em they’re 5-3 in their last eight outings.

Patriots are road favorites against the Jets

In the AFC East on Sunday the New England Patriots visit the New York Jets as 2.5-point road favorites.

Bucs underdogs in Monday night matchup

Week 3 then concludes on Monday night with the Philadelphia Eagles at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as 5-point road favorites.

Philadelphia is 2-0 SU and 1-0-1 ATS after last week’s 34-28 win over Minnesota as 6-point favorites. The Eagles are 5-1 SU and 3-2-1 ATS in their last six games, and on the road they’re 8-1 SU and 3-6 ATS in their last nine games. As road favorites the Eagles have won 10 straight with a 4-6 ATS record.

Tampa Bay is 2-0 SU and ATS after defeating the Chicago Bears 27-17 as 2.5-point favorites last week. Despite the strong start the Buccaneers are still 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games, and as home underdogs they’re 2-8 SU and 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10 games.

In this matchup the Buccaneers have won four straight at 3-1 ATS.
