College Football Week 5 Betting Preview

Week 5 of the college football season ramps up early this week with a Pac-12 matchup between the No. 10 Utah Utes and the No. 19 Oregon State Beavers on Friday night.

At the Bovada Sportsbook the Beavers are 3-point home favorites. The Beavers are coming off their first loss of the season after falling to the Washington State Cougars 38-35 as 3-point favorites last week. That snapped a seven-game winning streak during which they were 6-1 against the spread. At home the Beavers are 12-1 straight up and ATS in their last 13 games.

Utah got past the UCLA Bruins 14-7 as 3.5-point favorites last week to improve to 4-0 SU and 2-1-1 ATS. The Utes have been a solid UNDER play for totals bettors with all four games going UNDER this season. As an underdog Utah is 2-6 SU and 4-4 ATS in its last eight games.

Last season Utah crushed Oregon State 42-16 as 10.5-point favorites. In this matchup the Utes are 6-1 SU and 3-4 ATS in the last seven games.

LSU visits Mississippi as a road favorite

In the SEC this weekend the No. 13 LSU Tigers visit the No. 20 Mississippi Rebels as 3-point road favorites.

LSU edged the Arkansas Razorbacks 34-31 as 17.5-point favorites last week. The Tigers have gone OVER the total in every game this season and in eight straight overall. As road favorites they’re 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last five outings.

Mississippi is coming off a 24-10 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide as 7-point underdogs. At home the Rebels are 8-2 SU and 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games, but as a home underdog they’re 1-12 SU and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games.

Last season LSU defeated Mississippi 45-20 as a pick’em. In this matchup LSU is 6-1 SU and 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven games.

Duke set as underdog hosting Notre Dame

As well, the No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish look to get back on track this weekend when they visit the No. 17 Duke Blue Devils as 5.5-point road favorites.

Notre Dame came up short against the Ohio State Buckeyes last week in a 17-14 loss as 3-point underdogs. As road favorites the Fighting Irish have won 14 straight games with a 9-4-1 ATS record.

Duke is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS after routing the Connecticut Huskies 41-7 as 22-point favorites last week. The Blue Devils are 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games, and at home they’ve won five straight at 4-1 ATS. As a home underdog they’ve won three in a row ATS.

Notre Dame is 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS in its last four games versus Duke.
