the bank
------------------------------------------------------------------
Las Vegas - ELECTRIC INSANITY! That's the only way to describe the Bank. We lived in Philly for a year and a half and know all about what could be the LOUDEST fan base in MLB. Citizens Bank Park, from the first pitch to the last out, is NUTZ. But that's not the reason for grabbing the Phillies tonight. It's Aaron Nola. Looking back at last year's playoffs, Nola was the BAGEL MAN, throwing 12 innings in his first two starts, and allowing ZERO earned runs. In his first playoff outing in 2023, he continued his work at the BAGEL factory, with seven innings of zeroes against the Marlins. Of course, it'll be a little different against the Braves. Nola didn't do well in Atlanta, giving up 5 earned runs in 6 innings, but back at the Bank, he was Captain ZERO, throwing 6 innings worth of BAGELS at the Braves.
And his stats tell me that Aaron really LOVES the Bank, because he hasn't lost a game at home in over two months. Looks like Atlanta is gonna send Bryce Elder to the hill, and that could be a problem, since he has been roughed up for 19 hits and 13 earned over the last 12 innings. OUCH! Gimme the Phils for the money.
